The Church leaders today particularly the "15 the twelve apostles and the three-headed Presidency (the President of the Church its "prophet" and his two counselors) have systematically attempted to conceal embarrassing facts about the Church, which would tend to make it look kooky or otherwise questionable. The characters were never introduced in a way that I could really connect with any of them.
